Athfest weekend was insane. Not so many good bands this year but I worked every night at the caledonia until 3-4am so that was nuts. Anyway, here is this week's Action 5. READ IT.

I guess it's time I weighed in on the Sopranos

So by now everyone knows that the Sopranos finale blew. Completely. I posted about it on FOXYMORON SUCKS! and figured I might as well repost my thoughts here since I hadn't sounded off on the issue yet. haha.

I just think Chase copped out. But it was his right to cop out and even though it pissed me (and half the known world) off, at the end of the day it was his show.

However I do find the following post-finale dust-up quote from Chase to be quite telling (and defensive):

"I have no interest in explaining, defending, reinterpreting, or adding to what is there," he told the The Star-Ledger of the final scene.

"No one was trying to be audacious, honest to God," he added. "We did what we thought we had to do. No one was trying to blow people’s minds or thinking, ‘Wow, this’ll [tick] them off.’

"People get the impression that you’re trying to [mess] with them, and it’s not true. You’re trying to entertain them."

What I want to know is this - Why? Why was he not trying to blow our minds? I think that was the problem. It just didn't seem like he cared.

Then again you can argue that he doesn't have to care about the viewer and it is his right to care only about the story as he sees it - fine, but then why did we bother watching.

But yeah, agree or disagree, I was pissed.

Dan Rather rules

Dan Rather's show on HDNET is amazing and is reason enough to upgrade to HDTV. I don't know if you all have heard the goings-on about Rather saying that CBS has fucked up the evening news but once again it proves that he is a sharp tack willing to lay the beat down on BS and those that spout it. By the way, it turns out Rather accused CBS head Les Moonves of ruining the news by "tarting it up" which is funny enough on its own but I originally thought he had said "tarding it up," which in my humble opinion would have been way cooler and even more accurate.

So the wife pointed out that I have been seriously neglecting this here blog for the last month or so. Indeed. Anyway, most of you who know me know that there is something big coming in the next month or so and I suppose I have been saving my ideas for said big happening. Those of you who don't know me so well will be completely confused by the preceding sentence. Sorry for that. So, I am going to do my best to give Ryanetics more love, words and pictures but be warned, something big is on the horizon and it is going to be radical.
