The Atomic Age

I am watching this documentary about nuclear weapons on the Discovery HD Theater called "Trinity and Beyond" and it is really rather upsetting. The below clip left my jaw hanging agape as I sat here trying to figure out why mankind is so hellbendt on wholesale destruction. I am no hippie and I believe that sometimes wars must be fought when there is no alternate way to stop the aggression of another, but seriously... this is just fucked up. Watch it, you'll see.



It is worth pointing out that towards the end of the bomb blast the dome of red "explodey stuff" looks an awful lot like a Jefferson Airplane lightshow.
